Externals for handling sysex in Max for Live?

I'm aware of these externals:

- leigh hunt's lh_ objects, for which I can't find a live link
- these imp. objects http://www.theimpersonalstereo.com/max-externals/
- and the lmh_m4l_midi object http://www.sigabort.co/m4l_tools.html

all of them seem to have problems.

- lh_objects are stable but it can't handle large sysex messages, and doesn't work on windows. v1.03 doesn't seem to work at all, only v1.02 loads.
- imp. objects seem to crash Live frequently.
- lmh_m4l_midi doesn't populate menus correctly and crashes Live frequently.

What are your experiences with using sysex in Max for Live, and does anyone know of other externals or stable methods of sending and receiving sysex with Max for Live?
