I am currently keeping everything on my Mac, but I can see it eating away at my storage. I'm thinking this isn't wise and wonder what you guys do. THANKS!

storing files - sound library & external drives
How do you store your files? Do you keep your sample libraries with your Live Library on your Mac, or do you place your sample libraries on an external harddrive? Do you keep your Live Project Folders on your Mac, or place on a separate external harddrive? Or does streaming samples/projects from an external drive cause any sluggishness?

Re: storing files - sound library & external drives
I use a PC so I expand internally as required but I personally try and avoid external storage though with new USB3/Thunderbolt I believe the bottlenecks are not much of an issue.
I have most of my sample libraries on internal SSD (Omnisphere/Trilian/East West) but NI Komplete is still on a 7200 RPM HDD and I am in the process of getting another SSD for this because Session Strings especially can take 2 minutes alone to load whereas everything else is mere seconds.

I keep all my music making tools on my internal SSD, and keep non-important stuff like movies and the like on an external if I need the space. Priorities and all
