Hi. After using Logic Pro for 15 years, there are mainly two areas that I've been frustrated with. Firstly, Logic still does not easily facilitate for the creation of complex MIDI routings and makes the recording of multiple MIDI instruments virtually impossible. Secondly, Logic's 'Live Input Mode' which puts all the CPU processing stress onto the shoulders of one CPU core as soon as an instrument or live input is being monitored or recorded, while the remaining cores lay idle.
It has always been my understanding that Cubase and most of the other DAWs all have this same design for CPU distribution, but I have also never found any hard evidence either way that suggests Live is or isn't any different. It does 'feel' to me that Ableton is able to process more in a live input context, but it would be useful to know EXACTLY how Ableton Live differs from other DAWs in this respect, if at all.
I'm searching for facts. Thanks
