I am starting to use sends more and more. Recently, I started doing things like sidechained reverb, which sounds really neat. However, I like to save my work and be able to pull up "demos" of instruments, midi, and the effects, so I can hear them how they were intended to be used later on. This wasn't a problem before I started using sends, I'd just lump everything into an instrument rack and save it to the user library. I'd then save the clip as well, which pulls up the instrument rack whenever I recall it. I don't see any way at all to also save the send channel and its settings.
Is there a way to do this in Live?

Re: Saving to your user library - Sends?
I can give you some work-arounds. They involve putting sidechaining simulation devices within the instrument rack or within bussed tracks saved as a Set. It's not pretty and not terribly usefull unless it's towards 1 narrow genre. Overall, I'd say ur better off learning to hear how things are going to be.
Otherwise, autopan as sidechain simulatiom, clip envelopes, templates, or m4l are your resources.

I'm not sure I follow, but why can't you just make a project and save a number of those to a special folder? You can pull in channels from that project later.Fleshbits wrote: I like to save my work and be able to pull up "demos" of instruments, midi, and the effects, so I can hear them how they were intended to be used later on.
Another alternative would be to to move the return tracks channels into the rack returns and save the rack with it. That's some work but maybe worth it if you like the rack packaging.
Make some music!

HELP!
This is the same problem I have. I absolutely love the idea of dragging and dropping tracks and effects from Live to the browser for future use. I have configured a set of sends for a template - I'd like to save the whole bunch to be used in other projects but Live won't let me!
Is there a reason saving isn't available to return tracks? How do you save those?
