Hi, if I use Bias Amps alone on a track in Live it works great and does not create more latency than in any non-digital amp. But soon as I place for instance another amp in a return track or a single compressor in the master track I get a latency that makes the set-up unplayable. Advice on this is dearly welcomed.

What latency does Live report on the bottom line when you hold the cursor to the plug-in (is it a plug-in?)?ivaranz wrote:Hi, if I use Bias Amps alone on a track in Live it works great and does not create more latency than in any non-digital amp. Describe your signal path in more detail. Do you have active sends on the return tracks or somewhere in the signal path?

Re: Latency
Thank you Stromkraft, I was not aware of that latency-indication at the bottom of Live. I see now that only some effects produce latency. All of Waves compressors seem to do it, while other effects can be added without increasing the latency from 0.

Re: Latency
Well, not all Waves compressors at all. C1, Vcomp and Puigchild that I use all have 0 samples of latency. C4 has 64 samples of latency and Rchannel, which combines compressor/expander and equalizer has 65 samples. Very acceptable for what they do if you ask me.ivaranz wrote:Thank you Stromkraft, I was not aware of that latency-indication at the bottom of Live. I see now that only some effects produce latency. Same goes for TDR Kotelnikov for example that sounds so great and has 184 samples of latency. So hardly unusual. I'm very happy that most of my instruments plug-ins have no or little latency.
