Powerbook builtin snd cutting out

Hi all, I seem to be having a problem with my 667(with cache) powerbook, with it's internal sound card.

When using Live the audio seems to just 'cut out' for about 4 seconds, maybe about once a week. I can't seem to see a pattern but it happened once before when I was not using live.

Has anyone had similar problems?

yep had the same kinda problem although it happens regularly when running VSt effects and pushing them to the limits. what is random is sometimes they work fine other times the audio just disappears, not only on the one track where the effect is, all of it. The processor is still only at 25% at max when this happens so its not cpu performance.
to get audio back i either have to select another preset for the effect or switch the effect off altogether- but this problem doesn't make Live so good for live!!

is there some level that the built in soundcard can't handle?


am running OS X10.2.6 Ableton Live 2.03 on 1Ghz PB 512mb.
