Axiom 49 Midi controller nightmares - Turning MMC off

Hi

I'm currently setting up a live show via live 9

I'm using M audio Axiom 49 (gen2)

I'm trying to stop it automapping and controlling the master volume fader...amongst other annoying features that crop up - on the assign

This is the section of the manual which denotes how to do this:
3.1.3 Turning Controls OFF
Stop a control from transmitting MIDI data by turning that control OFF. This is done as follows:
49- and 61-note versions:
< Select the controller as described in section 2.4.2.
< Press the Ctrl Assign button and enter “000” on the numeric keypad.
< While the LCD is still flashing, press the data minus (–) button.
< The LCD will now display OFF

BUT the second last steps >>> press the data (-) button cannot apply because the manual is for a Generation 1 Axiom 49 >>>>>thee Gen 2 has no (-) button

You can go to preferences,MIDI and turn off remote for your controller.
