motorized faders with ableton
motorized faders with ableton
Is there a motorized fader controller that will follow your mouse when you click a new track even if you pick one outside the "bank of 8"? Seems like an issue with the Mackie HUI Protocol (http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/ar ... th-my-DAW-) so was wondering if there was a controller that works more seamlessly (click any track in the session, the fader follows).

Yes. I'd think any that uses Mackie scripts. What have you tried?alin3994 wrote:Is there a motorized fader controller that will follow your mouse when you click a new track even if you pick one outside the "bank of 8"? http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/ar ... th-my-DAW-
Make some music!

k, this took a bit of research to figure out but from what I understand the issue described only exists with Mackie HUI and not MackieControl. Not sure why the faderport wouldn't support MackieControl with Ableton.

And this one moves with mouse action? I know it's important how you set up in preferences, with remote and all.alin3994 wrote:Just the Presonus Faderport,

I can confirm it doesn't, at least not consistently.Stromkraft wrote:And this one moves with mouse action? I know it's important how you set up in preferences, with remote and all.alin3994 wrote:Just the Presonus Faderport,
If I click on a track with the mouse it generally follows interns of the motorised fader moving to the Ableton fader position but if you try to move the motorised fader it often doesn't respond in Ableton. I just click over using the right and left buttons on the controller and it's a bit annoying but not enough to worry me too much. It's still a great mixing controller IMO and, to be honest, I actually can't remember the last time I clicked on a track with the mouse rather than using the Faderport controls or Push which I recently received on long term loan from a mate.
