Hi everyone
I recently decided to stop using computer for producing ,Jaming but i dont have any knowledge about synchronizing . i dont know how to synchronize my hardwares for live jam without using DAW. would "midi clock" do the job ? i watched couple of video on midi clock and in all of them DAW was used . is there a simple way to do this ?
my equipment that want to sync are : all the korg volcas (except KICK) + analog rytm and TR09 .
Thank you

Yes, you can synchronize all your hardware without a DAW.
Basically, you'll have to decide which device is going provide the master clock and set everything else to "slave" or "external clock". How are you passing MIDI among all these devices? With that many devices, you might need a MIDI hub.

so if I choose analog rytm as master clock i will need to send midi out from analog rytm to one of the volcas midi in(they only have "midi in" port) then from one volca I could use audio sync in and out to connect the rest of volcas ? iam I right? or do i need to connect all of them individually to midi hub ? I dont know how midi hub works ! if I connect all the devices to midi hub ,what do i connect midi hub to ?lol . I think iam missig something very basic hereRichie Witch wrote:Yes, you can synchronize all your hardware without a DAW.

You don't need to connect the MIDI hub to anything else. It distributes your MIDI to all your devices. So if you pick the Analog Rhythm as your master clock, the hub will send the clock (and any other MIDI signals) to all the other devices connected to the hub. You can add a keyboard controller and play any (or all) of the devices through the hub too.

thanks just one thing when i connect them all toghetr how do i play them all at once ? do i need to press play on each device individually ? or is there a way to play them altogether ?Richie Witch wrote:You don't need to connect the MIDI hub to anything else. That depends on the devices themselves. For example, if I'm using an Arturia Beatstep as my master clock, when I start the sequencer on the Beatstep, my Korg Electribe starts running as well. Most gear driven by an internal sequencer will start up as soon as the master clock begins and will stop when the master clock stops.
