You need to edit subject like this: "Save 50% on Presonus products and 20% on Ableton."

Hmm, I might update my ancient version of StudioOne 2, StudioOneTwo, Studio 2.
to version 3 , which is now on version 3 it seems. Studio 1.3.3
um, yeah.
anyway £50 to get access to the arrangement scratchpads is probably worth it. Along with that section drawing ("blocks"?) thing.
Live really doesn't offer any good arranging tools, and that Presonus Studio 3 Scratchpad feature is pretty damn intuitive.

have you actually tried using it? It's a bug ridden crash-festival and they haven't shown any inclination to fix it. Most S1 users wrote it off long ago as a trash feature abandoned by the company. But go ahead, try it. You'll be screaming before long.

Oh my! No, I've not used Studio One in years and so hadn't bothered upgrading it.mholloway wrote:Angstrom wrote: anyway £50 to get access to the arrangement scratchpads is probably worth it. Along with that section drawing ("blocks"?) thing.

In that case I'll take a good long look at their forums then before I bother. What a shame, it sounds like just what I need for my way of working.
Damn it. £50 was a decent price for that feature. If it worked!

I use Studio One almost every single day for client work, can't even remember the last time it crashed. Actually I can't even remember it crashing even once, great app. Definitely research it a bit more, I think it's probably my favorite DAW after Live.

They should have a demo.

Studio One 3 crashed so often on my iMac that it was a joke. Support wasn't able to help me. I was mostly using the Project page, working on mastering projects. It crashed every single time I updated a master file, crashed on close half the time.
Also, the CPU meter would spike when doing simple actions like selecting a track. Yeah.

Well consider me envious, then. I gave up on the software when their tech support couldn't help me at all with the constant crashes or the CPU spikes. It's possible it was caused by certain mastering plugins, but I've since been able to use the exact same plugins elsewhere (Adobe Audition) without any problems.

That's a shame you had so many issues, it's such a great app for mixdowns and mastering.

What about the arranger track and scratchpad? Do you use them much? They are great features. Are they any more or less reliable than the rest of the DAW?Tarekith wrote:That's a shame you had so many issues, it's such a great app for mixdowns and mastering.
TIA.
Re: Save 50% on Presonus and 20% on Ableton products.
I use them, but not much. Like I said, I can't even remember having Studio One crash on me once, so I would say those are just as stable as the rest of the program has been for me.

Lots of great deals to be had.
Great deals on Soundtoys stuff right now. Echoboy for $99, or the whole Soundtoys 5 collection for $249. I have three of their free plugins, for whatever reason that qualifies me for $195 for the whole collection, which is really tempting.
Eventide has some great deals going on. I grabbed the Blackhole reverb for $49 - my god that thing sounds beautiful, and not too bad on the CPU either.
NI stuff as well. Reaktor 6 for $99.
Tons of great deals, but those are some of the ones that I'm excited about.
