BPM change in a MIDI clip -> sustain pedal events problem
BPM change in a MIDI clip -> sustain pedal events problem
Hello,
Take a MIDI clip played with a piano (with some sustain pedal events).
Change the BPM of this Midi Clip.
The sustain pedal don't follow the BPM change : they stay at original place!
and more generally the Envelopes things don't move along with the BPM change !
Help !!

It seems impossible to solve

Unfortunately, there is no general solution.
But regarding sustain pedal you could use M4L to transform cc64 into real note lengths.
This would also avoid the problem that Live doesn't switch sustain off when stopped.

Ok!
Is it a known bug in Ableton Live ?
(the fact that if I change BPM, the notes move, but the CC don't move.....)

Re: BPM change in a MIDI clip -> sustain pedal events problem
Notice that the BPM changer resides in the 'Notes' section, not in the 'Envelopes' section.
So apparently the behavior is by design, but you may call it a "design bug".

What works for me, however not a real, 'calculated' solution: select all notes, go to the envelope section, select all pedal CC's, go back to the notes section and move the cursor-thingy to adjust speed. The envelopes (if all selected) move accordingly.

Shouldn't you be more clear five years later (!) that you mean Live 8? Live 9, that doesn't appear to have any problems like this — unless this "BPM change" is a technique I'm not aware of — has been available for soon 3.75 years.Oscard wrote:What works for me, however not a real, 'calculated' solution: select all notes, go to the envelope section, select all pedal CC's, go back to the notes section and move the cursor-thingy to adjust speed. At least all envelopes follow scene bpm changes as well as arrangement ones.
Make some music!
