splitting midi signal

Post by pistacchio » Tue Sep 13, 2005 11:59 am

hi to all!
i'm pretty new to live and i'm still exploring its possibilities.
now, as i use it mainly for live-playing, i'm trying to split the midi signal into two parts in order to play at the same time 2 vsti from one keyboard.
to make it simplier: once i set 2 vsti (call them PIANO and PAD), i want the notes from the first 2 octaves on my keyboard to play the PAD and the notes from the third octave to the end to be routed to the other vsti, the PIANO, so that i can play the PADs with my right hand and the PIANO with the left.
all this via-software, as my keyboard does not allow this splitting.
thank you in advance

you can do this using the pitch device. for the device with the upper range, set 'lowest' to the yeah, the lowest note you want for that synth. for the lower range, set the 'range' to the number of semitones you want, while leaving 'lowest' at C-2
