Scarlett 2i4 audio out only one channel?

Hi all,

I hope you can help with a problem I am having with my Scarlett 2i4. It is 8 months old and runs on Windows 10. It has been fine until a few weeks ago when audio stopped coming from balanced output 2. The problem is across all playback software (DAW, media players, youtube etc)

The headphone output is fine but the problem seems to be on both balanced and unbalanced outputs to the monitors.

The monitor and cable are fine as when i swap them round the audio switched side. The unit appears to be fine as I returned it to the dealer who tested in on their system and it worked fine.

I believe then it is a system issue. I have been back and forth with Focusrite support and tried the following:
Updated drivers,
Updated firmware,
Updated operating system,
Tried changing the USB port,
Ensured the balance is full on both channels in playback devices (Playback devices > Double click the Scarlett > Levels > Balance > Please ensure both of these are turned up to full).
I have tried my headphones in the balanced out and output 1 is ok and 2 has no audio.

The line out is listed as - '3- Scarlett 2i4 USB' in playback devices.

I'm lost for what to so next. Any help or advice is hugely appreciated!!

1. Did you say this happens on all DAWs?

2. This probably won't do anything but have you tried changing USB cables?

From the sound of it.... it seems like that output is physically not operating ideally.

Hi, yeah happens in all Daws and any playback software. Any audio from the pc basically.

I have tried 2 USB connections in all 3 of my USB ports but nothing unfortunately.

Did you install the drivers and configure the software for the drivers to have the appropriate outputs?

It seems strange to me that there would be a 3 as the output name instead of a 2...

Do your other outputs work? The non-1/4" ones? RCA cable

Hi apologies for the delay and thanks for responding. that seemed strange to me being 3 as well. Do you know how to change it?

The rca appear to be the same so seems to be a set up issue. It worked great till a few weeks back and I never changed any settings but I don't recall it being named as 3?

Go to Preferences in Live.

Choose the Audio tab.

Click on anything that has to do with Outputs.

There should be a selector that lets you choose 1/2 and 1&2 or something like that. Make sure those are functioning.

Go to Live's layout and view I/O in session or arrangement channels. Go to the master. See that your Output is 1/2, just to be sure.

Thank you! I'm not sure if your on PC but these setting are also on my PC audio setting so not only occurring within Live. Is there a way to change it across all playback software? Media player, YouTube etc?
