Plugins with Ableton Live Lite 9

Post by TheMadKing » Wed Jan 04, 2017 1:25 am

Hey,
i am new to Ableton and i wanted to get some VST Instrument Plugins. I downloaded the .dll files and put it in the right folder (like i saw it described on other forums) but somehow it doesnt seem to work for me. Please share your ideas on dealing with this sort of problem and help me solve it.
Thanks!

Are you able to see them in the Live Browser / Plugins? Make sure you do the following:
- Under Live's Preferences / File Folder / Plug-in Sources, click the Browse button and point it to the folder where you have all your plugins. Use the parent folder if you created folder for the plugins. Turn on the Plugin by clicking the OFF button (if it's off), this button above the Browse button.
- If you are using Live Lite 9 64-bit, make sure that you only use 64-bit plugin. Likewise, if Live is 32-bit, use 32-bit plugin

If the plugin works with Live, you should see them in Live's Browser / Plug-ins.

Hope this helps!

Hey,
Thanks for your ideas, but sadly it didnt work. But maybe it is because the plugins i use are not 64 bit. But how do i find out? I want to use DSK plugins (http://www.dskmusic.com/) but i cant seem to find the information about what bit they are. Maybe someone can help me with that.
Thanks!

I went to the website and checked out some of the plugins. It seems that if the plugin supports 64-bit, you will see 2 download links: 32-bit and 64-bit. If there is only 1 download link, then it's a 32-bit only. DSK Dynamic Guitars plugin works since it has 64-bit. DSK Synth Drums is only 32-bit and does not work.
