Re: importing samples ableton live 9 suite
the basic method is to add them to the Live browser system:

Re: importing samples ableton live 9 suite
Thanks fishmonkey, is it best to store them in places/mysamples or create a whole new folder? Or in places/packs?? Just don't want duplicate items on my hard drive, thanks for the reply

you can store the actual samples anywhere you like really. just decide on a folder structure that makes sense to you.
the Live Browser is essentially a database which links to your content. so adding content to the Browser doesn't actually duplicate the content on your disks.

If you have a "Live Pack" all you need to do is just double click the file and it will install itself into your library available as a Pack or Project (depending on how the Pack was created).
If you have a collection of Samples just figure out where to permanentely store your files on your Hard drive (really no right or wrong place to put files, just put them somewhere that you can remember to get to). Once your folder is in its permanenet location, you can drag folder into Live's browser which will give Ableton a link to the folder. It initially takes Ableton a bit of time to find all of the files in the folder but once it does, you don't really have to worry about it again (unless you move/rename folder or rename parent folder).
