Inserting and copying notes in the piano roll with keyboard?

Post by GV1 » Sat Mar 18, 2017 11:55 am

Is it possible to insert notes in the piano roll with a keyboard shortcut? Or even copy a note without touching the mouse?

I know most of the keyboard shortcuts for working in the piano roll but one thing I can't find is insert or copy without having to use the mouse.

Well, I don't know a good way to get into a selected clip, but once inside one you can move with the left and right arrow buttons to a position where you can use a simple keyboard paste operation, Ctrl/Cmd-v.

To select notes for copy you can select all, Ctrl/Cmd-a. To move around between notes in the clip you can use the arrows while holding down alt and also Shift in order to select more notes. Unfortunately, I don't know how to initially select the first note, so again that's a mouse selection. There might be a way, however.

Have you read the chapters about this of the Live 9 manual?
