Strange behavior from stock M4L LFO audio effect device.

Post by SLEEarts » Tue Mar 28, 2017 1:05 pm

Hello all,

I'm working on a big complex mix that makes extensive use of the M4L audio effect called "LFO." I'm pretty sure this was part of the Max for Live essentials pack that comes with Suite.

When set to sync mode, the device will occasionally jump from one point in its oscillation to another quite distant point, causing a jarring glitch in the sound's modulation. This happens in arrange view when moving from one clip on a track to another. What's strange is that it's only doing this sometimes. If I switch to frequency mode, the problem goes away.

For this project I'd prefer sync mode. There are no controls on the device for retriggering. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I'm not a complete novice in the patcher window so I'd be willing to crack that open if anyone has a good idea, but I'm not very advanced either, so please be patient with me. Thanks in advance!

Sorry if I was unclear. I mean that the LFO jumps during simple playback when the play head finishes a certain midi clip and encounters a new one on the same track. No input from me is required other than pressing play.

You know, I actually didn't try to consolidate the clips yet. I'll try that and see if it has an effect.
