Wow so this is the first time I have actually thought of trying to do something, that hadn't already been implemented by the Ableton team.
I'm aware that there is an "individual tracks" export option. But what I am trying to do is render 2 versions of the Master channel, with and without its effects, at the same time. You could already do this by setting up a audio channel with its input as "master" and then selecting export "individual tracks", however you then render every other track in the process (which takes fucking long time).
If I could select a more specific selection of channels to render (e.g. Master + channels 3 & 5), this would mean I could render 'pre-master' versions of tracks at the same time as my own 'self-mastered' versions. Could be a really good best practice for producers who know that feel of going back to an old project to render a Pre-master only to find some weird VST glitch has fucked up the way everything sounds.
I expect this would be really easy to implement, AND super useful for a lot of people.

More detail on "export individual tracks"
Re: More detail on "export individual tracks"
From the Selection Options section of the manual:
It doesn't include the master or return tracks, though, since you can not select them.Selected Tracks Only — this is identical to the All Individual Tracks option, but only renders tracks that were selected prior to opening the Export dialog.
Re: More detail on "export individual tracks"
Oh nice thank you. I think this must be available on a newer version of Ableton as I have not bothered to update in a while. Doesn't matter that you can't select Master or Return tracks as you can just route them to a regular channel anyway!chrk wrote:From the Selection Options section of the manual:It doesn't include the master or return tracks, though, since you can not select them.Selected Tracks Only — this is identical to the All Individual Tracks option, but only renders tracks that were selected prior to opening the Export dialog.
