Object to select whole numbers

Post by rinkybink » Fri May 05, 2017 3:01 pm

I just started using PrEditor with my Push 2 and am running in to a problem with the free Bertha 2 synth from Max For Cats. When I adjust a knob for the frequency faders, they move through all of the decimal values.
I want to know if there is something I can do to just have my Push knobs sweep through the whole numbers 0 through 30.
Is there a simple device I can use to do this?

Thanks for any help.

Only by editing the maxforlive device and replacing the flounce object with a number one....

Additionally you could change the styling of the flounce object to integers.

Thank you! I don't really know what any of that means, but I'll open it up and have a look.
I'm loving PrEditor, by the way.

This device will let you set custom values. You can easily set the 30 whole numbers you want by setting the breakpoints into a ladder shape.
For example 0-3 = 0, 4-7 = 1, etc..

The Honey Mapper doesn't really do what I needed it to. I didn't want to rack everything up. thanks for the suggestion, though.

I got inside the Bertha 2 synth and changed the Parameter Type for the fader to Enumerated and listed the Range/Enum from 1-20. That did it. I just poked around for an hour or so and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for the tips!
