EQ mapping w/o detented knobs (APC40)

Post by Crave4brdn » Wed May 10, 2017 1:52 pm

(I'm calling knobs with a stopping point in the middle 'detented', but I'm not sure if that's correct).

How do people map DJ-style EQ, for example, to an APC40 when it has no knobs with middle stopping points.
Unless you're staring at the screen it's pretty hard to make sure it's back in the middle when you don't wanna be applying EQ...

I'm actually considering doing the EQ in an otb mixer, but it would be nice to have an itb technique.

Another alternative would be a setup where you can hit one button like the delete key that zero's out lo/mid/hi individually...

thoughts?

Actually, I'm thinking, the move might be to set separate knobs for cuts and boosts, that way cuts can have a max of 0db and boosts can have a min of 0db...
