Ableton struggles and crashes when freezing tracks
I have a really large set I'm using for a live performance that is taking up a lot of CPU. In an effort to reduce the load I've tried freezing some of the tracks but Ableton is crashing almost every time I try to freeze one of them. I'm sure the problem is with this particular live set because I've tried copying a few of the tracks into new sets and then freezing them and it works fine. Has anyone else encountered this and are there ay solutions?

Re: Ableton struggles and crashes when freezing tracks
I've encountered the need to rebuild sets rather than finding the issue sometimes. This involves a new fresh set and copying tracks from the Live browser. Return tracks will have to be saved as audio effect rack presets and remade.ThirdPerson wrote:I have a really large set I'm using for a live performance that is taking up a lot of CPU. Sometimes routings need to set up again. Usually avoided by copying all routed tracks together.

i have found I cannot freeze certain tracks, I have been wondering why
Re: Ableton struggles and crashes when freezing tracks
I have the same issue when my project becomes very heavy. I usually just bounce the audio at this point. I can still freeze but will randomly crash the project. This never happens when the project is in light use so I gather it's a CPU related issue that Live struggles with.

I too experience this often. Especially with large Film Scoring Live Sets of around 170 tracks, 6 Send Effects and a complete full length film on an audio track (around 1 hour 30 minutes plus).
Try and get in touch with [email protected]. Hopefully they answer back. I've sent my crash reports multiple times with no response though.

You won't get any responses from that address, but you'll be doing yourself and the user community a great service sharing. I made a little automation for sending crash reports automatically in OS X.biped wrote: Try and get in touch with [email protected]. Hopefully they answer back. To get support go to the help menu and select "Get support" and follow the steps. You will get a response and quite often great help as well.

Hi Everybody!
i found a solution in the case that your live set is too heavy that cannot freeze, is very simple:
tunr your audio engine OFF, and then try to freeze, in this method the computer bounces offline, and is faster, without crashes.
i just realized but if you can confirm my solution could be great!!
