Scene launch ? is this possible?
Well I thought I was a pretty advanced live user but..
I would like to be able to launch a scene full of clips, but have some clips
NOT launch until I hit play on the clip.
This way I could launch a scene, and then add in clips as the scene is playing.
I have been using clip/mixer automation to turn tracks off on a scene launch, then
turn tracks on as the scene plays. I have to hit the track on button right dead on beat for it to
sound good. Thats why I started thinking about having certain clips within a scene only launch
when I hit their play button, instead of just launching when I play the scene.
I know I could just put the clips outside of the scene, then launch them, but I was
thinking about having it all in one scene, for simplicity.
Damn I hope that is somewhat coherent . Any ideas?
Thanks!
Brian

I use clyphx for this. There you can easily designate which clips you want to start together. You can do this with xClips or with a Midi controller and an xTrigger to start only the clips/tracks you want.
If you want to keep using the scene launch buttons to achieve this, you could put an extra xClip on each scene, that when it gets triggered immediately stops the tracks you don't want running.

That sounds like exactly what I need.
I only see "trigger , gate, toggle , & repeat" under clip launch mode options
I looked through preference also. I couldnt find anything.
Maybe I need to make sure I'm running the latest version?
Thanks

I have made a M4L device that can be used for this.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1

Cut it out dude, your constant whining has been duly noted. But berating other posters for helping others with solutions that help right now and not in some unicorn future reality where every single one of our desires has been fulfilled by Ableton is crossing the line into outright trolling.Stefan Jantschek wrote:viewtopic.php?f=3&t=165616

It`s an old one.
Discussed and suggested in almost all the ways we have.
And - sorry guys - M4L might be a tool, but not the solution.
The more user suggestions came up, the slower the update circles went.
Right now there is zero developement for month and zero public relation for years.
We can`t even say if Abletons like some ideas or not.
So reasonable doubts about the sense of public discussions on that matters have arised.
You're starting to resemble the guy here who is too dumb to upload pictures via hosting services and can't shut up about it.
Stop it

I think I am going to try that.
I know I could o crazy with all kinds of mapping to make scenes work like I want.
But i'm going for simplicity. Using scene launch would be great. I'm going to check out clyphx.
Thanks
