Accoustic Bass sound

Post by stevie331 » Sun Sep 17, 2017 9:07 pm

I've been trying to get a realistic acoustic Bass sound with Ableton but can't really find anything that suits.
Has anyone else managed to find a nice bass sound (i'd like an acoustic bass sound not a synth sound if that makes sense.)
Any links to tutorials or examples would be great-I can't see anything on youtube or elsewhere that fits my criteria?
Maybe I need to add some effects or something to get the sound i'm after?
Thanks Steve

I'm assuming you've already tried the "Guitar and Bass" factory pack that comes with Ableton Live? I think some of those sound pretty convincing, but then I don't play guitar either.

If that's not working for you, yeah, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Lately, I've been using the stand-up bass instrument in Kontakt, layered with Deep Mono vst (free from the Plugin Boutique website). Has that bass guitar string/crunch with a hefty low end, and it sits well with other electronic instruments.

What about this one: Meatbass – Free Double Bass SFZ Pack By Karoryfer Samples?

How can we know what sound you're after? 8O 8O

Room Reverb would be somewhere in a recording of a real acoustic bass I suppose.

Thanks for all the replies-Yes I've tried the guitar and bass pack-I just can't get the sound I want without it sounding too electronic, maybe I need to change way of setting it up that's why I asked about youtube tutorials.
Anyhow there are definitely some links I hadn't come across before so will try those.
I agree it's difficult to know what sound i'm after without maybe linking to a bass track i'm trying to get the sound of!!
Richie I will try kontakt with the deep mono vst as that may be what I need-Thank you
Stromkraft I wasn't originally after a double bass sound but will look at link as i'm sure I could fit it into a track somewhere now you've mentioned it.
Thanks for all the other bits of advice too
Cheers Steve :)
