Plug in configure mode button...

Post by IZNODJ » Fri Sep 22, 2017 7:32 pm

HI guys,

I can't get the 'configure mode button' to work on third party plug ins, VST or AU. When I switch it on, I select the parameters that I want to assign macros on, but they're not showing...
Anybody has that issue? Using Live 9.7.4 on Mac.

Thanx

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

It is for assigning to a controller like Push or so.... I use this function with Push2 - assigning to macro's is a different thing.

Before you load a third party VSTi - load an instrument rack - then load the instrument - click on map in the rack - move the control that you like to see "macroed". right click (PC) or ctrl click (Mac) to assign to a macro controller.

Are you saying that when you activate Configure, then move a parameter in your VST it does not appear in the configure section?

What is the VST?

Some VSTs will have controls that do not have "Host Automation" abilities so you can only control them directly with MIDI signals, not automation from the host. Older VSTs (such as many of the older Korg Legacy ones) may have many controls but they cannot be mapped to configure.

Some VSTs require you to enable host automation for the control and the way you do that varies by VST. For instance, Omnisphere you cannot map a control until you right-click the control in Omnisphere and select "Enable Host Automation" which will allow it to be added to your host. Kontakt has a similar feature

Thanx for the replies guys! It's fixed now. I didn't remember you could delete, reorganize the parameters... I haven't done that in years.

Cheers
