Crippling my workflow, and causing a rash
Crippling my workflow, and causing a rash
Ok, so I'm two years into Ableton from other DAWs and I dig the Ableton overall, so I thought random automation popping up like I Dream of Jeanie all over my arrangement was a cute little midi leak of some sort, but with an a new system, the same unwanted automation points are popping up all over the place, causing my workflow to be fucking stupid bad at times. So ....I search here and find posts from 10 fucking years to present that echo exactly my same problem. A ten year major glitch that has not been fixed? Please tell me this isn't the case. If someone has an answer to this or if anyone is still experiencing this same random automation, make me fell less insane and holla, you'll stop me from putting a fist through my monitor again. Much thanks.

Random automation never happens to me. Never.

Think you need to calm down and take a rational approach to the problem dude. No need to go punching monitors over a stupid problem.
Firstly as echoed already, there is no issue with phantom automation in Live just popping up out of nowhere so if it does, something is causing it:
- A dodgy control on a piece of hardware:
Troubleshoot by disconnecting ALL hardware and testing some simple recording to see if the issue occurs.
- A M4L device
If you have any M4L plugins try and remove them for an automation test
- Isolate the signal
What signal is being recorded? Is it always the same?
Shit will go wrong with software/computers. You need to have the patience to work through things and when you need help, articulate the problem so others can understand.
