Roll LightPad Block issues

Post by IZNODJ » Sat Sep 23, 2017 10:07 pm

Hi guys, I want to use the Roli LightPad Block as an XY controller for plug ins (Third party mostly) but when I use the midi learn function, Ableton only registers the Z axis CC. It's not registering the X axis or the Y axis and it won't let me... Is there any fix for that?

Thank you

Djeff

You have asked this question already. Why ask it again?

Usually what happens is that Z is the last thing sent every time you let your finger up from the surface.

You can probably just do the mapping, touch the controller. Then it'll show Z. But chances are that the mapping was bouncing between all the controls, X Y and Z. So if you hit 'Undo' in Live, it will undo the last mapping, which is Z, and it will have Y mapped or something.

Doesn't the Lightpad use MPE, which Live doesn't support?

Thanx for the replies.

I know it's more a Roli question, but their customer support is practically inexistent... So I took a chance here.

yur2die4, I tried that... Not working.

Tarekith, it also send regular midi command.

jestermegee, I reposted it because there was a typo in the subject and nobody answered it. Besides, what is it to you anyway? Are you the police here? STFU and mind your own business, if you have any.

You know it's actually possible to just edit your post if you make a mistake.

But I see I have somehow ruffled your feathers so good luck champ.

I couldn't find the way to changing the 'title' of the post. I was monitoring 2 other forums and working on resolving my issues at the same time. Maybe I wasn't patient enough and I didn't thoroughly look at that... But in my opinion you didn't have to answer me that 'I already asked the question before, why ask again?'. I knew that. You see where I was coming from?... I'm good now lol Just had to vent a little I guess.

Cheers

Its all good man, just a few users double posting where its not needed especially where all is required is an edit and a bump.

Most of the users that visit daily will see the posts and read them regardless of the title and help where possible. That's what we are all here for.

I cant help with your issue but wish you luck.
