Velocity workaround for key in Ableton

Post by mudman » Sun Sep 24, 2017 3:09 pm

My keyboard has a C key when pressed at normal pressure (and it's impossible to just play normally without causing it as well) is at full velocity. Therefore every performance loses any subtlety.
I have tried using Compression I and Compression II with midi velocity effects. It can almost work, though it really strips down the dynamics of a performance.
Is there anyway to make just the one C note not extend past a certain velocity without affecting the rest of the keys?
My thanks in advance for those kind enough to help.

What keyboard is it? It may be completely possible to actually fix the issue rather than work around it.

It could simply be some dust or something in the sensor that a bit of compressed air could free up. I've pulled apart basically everything in my studio at some point to service it and it's not that hard.

It may be possible with a combination of MIDI Velocity devices and such but that seems like a pain to have to setup for every track you want to play on.
