Helicon VoiceLive Touch 2 sync with Ableton Live for looping

I'm running a Helicon VoiceLive Touch 2 with an Ableton Live session where I want to be running beats on Live and simultaneously be making synced loops on Helicon.

I can make it sync (so that tempo changes are recognised), however there seems to be a problem with the start/stop sync. The problem is that the Helicon and Live run at the same tempo, but at different clocks. I can't sync the clocks.
I looked at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtKHh-WRGX8, but it doesn't seem to help.

Has anyone been able to successfully sync these two?
