Just 20% discount upgrade 9 to 10

I was highly excited when I watched the Ableton 10 Videos. And I was really shocked if I read that there is only a 20% discount to upgrade from 9 to 10.
Is this really true?

If this is true that would be really bad. You bought a very expensive DAW and then you can pay that much money again for an upgrade. Really Ableton??

No. What Math were you using for arriving at that? The 20%* is on the upgrade prices! The discounted upgrade price is about 33% of the new price (for Suite).

*And extends to any other items you buy in the shop

Mines coming in at £151 with the 20%. Full suite 9 to suite 10 is less than half the price of new. Seems good price really when compared to NI Komplete upgrades.

Until Live 10 is released.

Release is announced for Q1/2018, so you're not exactly pressed for buying right now. With Live 9 the timeframe between announcement and planned release was about the same, and then they extended the beta phase until May, so well into Q2.

Plus, I've just preorded, and Ableton have charged my credid card 1€, [edit] the rest will be due on final release. [/edit]

Personnaly, I don't think the annonced features are worthing the cost of the upgrade.

There are very nice cosmetic new functions (the new GUI is nice, note chasing function, capture, multi clips edition, taging inside Live etc. are very useful), but I didn't read nothing about an improvement in stability, latency management or cpu use...

And I still think that an upgrade that cost 40% of the full product is too much, even if I spent the last 4 years receiving free upgrades from Ableton.

If I remember good, the last Native Komplete was 600€ and the upgrade was 200€, so it makes a rough 30% of the full price with a lot of new instruments (Reaktor 6, Form...), but NI did a huge 50% sale on this after some time... And we all know that Ableton is not used to this kind of 50% sale...

For me, the cost of the upgrade is too much, but it's only my opinion.
