Simpler Sliced Drum Loop > Drum Rack - Slicing Inaccurately

Post by monkeygod » Wed Nov 08, 2017 3:18 pm

Anyone else have an issue with this? I find it is fine with clean audio where the transient is clean, but with loops lifted from vinyl or old school material often the slices aren't precise and I get glitches from the next slice at the end of some slices. Just to check other DAWs I tried the same troublesome loop in Bitwig, Logic and Pro Tools , and all seem better than Live at catching smaller pieces of audio at the start of drum hits....

Slicing in Ableton sucks bro. Algo sucks. Editing is so uncomfortable and makes it a real hassle. A half baked implementation.

They think it's all good as it's been this way for the best part of a decade, since they introduced it.
ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection

Ah not good to hear, was hoping there was a way of tweaking it for better results.. Perhaps I should post a video comparing it to Bitwig and other DAWs...

What rectifies it a little with Live is that editing waveforms with Push 2 is a breeze!
