When I start up Live, Browser 1 opens up somewhere in my Ableton Libraries that are nested under Application Support. If I continue to hit the up button, attempting to get to the "top" so I can see all my FW drives, Live hangs and gives me the beachball at the screen just below where my drives would show up.
Browsers 2 & 3 show up at the level with the drives and I'm able to navigate back and forth without any problems.
I'm running Live 5.0.1 and Mac OS 10.3.7.
Any ideas?

Hi orage,
we had a few user having this or a similar problem.
The big question is, can you reproduce this? Or did it happen only once?
Would also be nice if you could try this with the latest beta of the upcoming bug fix update Live 5.0.2:

Alex,
I can replicate the steps taken that produce the crash. Basically, all I have to do is hit the "Library" button on the browser, and then start using the "Folder Up" button after that. Once I try and move past the User level, Live locks up.
This happens on all 3 File Browsers and in both Live 5.0.1 and 5.0.2b
I've sent the resulting bug reports to [email protected]

Hi orage,
we assume that a system function of Mac OS fails but we are not sure at 100%.
So please do the following:
1) Locate the preferences folder of Live 5.0.2b6. Normally this should be "~/Library/Preferences/Ableton/live 5.0.2b6". Among other things a file called "Preferences.cfg" should be located there too.
2) In this folder, create a text file called "Options.txt".
3) Add the following line to the "Options.txt" file:
"-_LogAliasResolution" (without the quotes)
4) Start Live 5.0.2b6 and reproduce the browser crash.
5) Start Live 5.0.2b6 again so that the crash package will be created and send it directly to me.
thanks and regards,
Alex
