Extracting Grooves with Return Tracks
I'm trying to take a song - a collection of scenes - from my master live performance set into a new file for recording a track. I've done a simple drag & drop into the Grooves folder, which works perfectly. I open a new file and everything is there, except for my return tracks. I'd already done a fair amount of automation that I hate to lose. Is there any way of including the Return tracks with the automation as well?

Copy & paste the processing devices to a new track. Show the automation lanes in the return and select all and copy these, then paste to the new track. Make sure you're at 1.1.1 when pasting and the lanes are in the same order.
I have no idea what "a simple drag & drop into the Grooves folder" would mean here? This is in your User Library? Where in all this do you extract grooves?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've dragged and dropped the selected scenes into the Grooves folder from my live performance set. That way, when I open up a new file, all I have to do is drag the contents of that folder into the tracks area and all my tracks, clips and effects are all there.

Your post doesn't really answer the question though, as I'm talking about taking all of this info to a new file.Stromkraft wrote:Copy & paste the processing devices to a new track. It's possible you don't understand what I described. Because it addressed what you want to do. You can't move returns to a new file! That's why you have to take another path to achieve the same result.pfitzsimons wrote:Your post doesn't really answer the question though, as I'm talking about taking all of this info to a new file.Stromkraft wrote:Copy & paste the processing devices to a new track. Let me know if you need more details. I think if you just get started you will see how you do this.
