Trying to open a project that relies on simpler

I have the mid-tier version of Ableton right now..

when I open CM Drums kit it complains I don't have Simpler, and do I want to continue. I click yea go ahead and open the project anyway..

I cannot seem to play the drum pad like I can other midi instruments. I am guessing it's due to my lack of Simpler? I have the yellow keyboard midi light now, but nothings lighting up on the midi keyboard

By "mid-tier", do you mean Standard? Simpler comes with Live Standard, but the project may require the latest version of Simpler, if you're using Live 8 or an early version of Live 9.
