Re: playback latency
It could well be that one of your 3rd party plugins causes latency, so others have to wait until it's finished doing its job. For example, FabFilter Pro Q, when set to "Linear Phase - Maximum Latency" setting, would cause the entire project to lag. Check real-time settings for plug-ins in use.

Re: playback latency
I had this problem, and locojohn was right. In my case it was the Waves Z-Noise and DeBreath plugins. Once I removed them both from the project, playback returned to normal.
Re: playback latency
Thanks! I was having the same problem and the previous post nailed it. The Waves Debreath plugin was causing the issue. Turning it off didn't help, I had to delete it out of the track. I'll add it back in for the final, fiiinal mixing when the latency between what I'm hearing and seeing isn't driving me crazy.

Re: playback latency
You can also keep the original stored, let the plug-ins do what they do to your satisfaction and freeze/flatten. Removing breaths is not something you must do more than once. When I do this I cut out the plug-ins I still want to keep and post-flattening I simply paste them back in.davidm00 wrote:Thanks! I was having the same problem and the previous post nailed it.
