Ableton 10 - Menu options in Full Screen? (Windows 10)

Post by vksf01 » Fri Feb 16, 2018 6:43 pm

Hi,

In Live 9, if I was in full screen mode, I could still access the menu options (eg by hitting ALT-F to get the File menu). This doesn't seem possible anymore in Live 10. Is there a setting that I've missed to re-enable this behavior?

I brought this up in the beta, hopefully it will be sorted in an update.

Made a feature request about the issue, and found this thread when trying to find out more about it. It seems like it's just an oversight that needs to be fixed. It would be nice to finally have a way to actually show the menu itself, too, while in fullscreen mode -- but not being able to use the menus in any way is probably completely unintended.

Request thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=229549

Happens in both Win 7 and Win 10.

yeah, it works fine in live 9, just not in live 10. my workaround is to get it out of full screen, select the menu and then go back to full screen. kind of annoying. hope they fix this soon!

The workaround I use, which does not involve using the mouse, is this:

Ableton Live 10 Starts in full-screen mode. Press F11. Press TAB twice. Now access the menus (alt+f or whatever). Press F11 to get back into fullscreen again. (and no, menu access wont work...)
