I purchased Live 10 having owned 5,6,7,8 and 9....
One thing that I cant figure out is....All my settings from Live 9 to Live 10 are the same...when I choose omnisphere I create a midi recording then I choose another track and use another soft synth. In the past I have been able to just press on the new track with the new softsynth and play that sound live via my external midi keyboard. Now if I choose the other synth track I still hear the Omnisphere sound.
I am not sure what to change so each au/vst synth track when selected plays the correct synth sound.

Do you own Push?
If so that is what will occur when Push is connected. It will Pseudo-arm a selected track so you can play it without being fully armed. Without a Push tho, I have never had that behaviour, you need to either arm the track or set the MIDI MONITOR to IN

In previous versions, Live would automatically arm a track when selecting it, but In Live 10 you need to manually arm the tracks.
If you want the old behavior back, you need to create a simple text file named Options.txt that contains the option -EnableArmOnSelection and then copy this file to your Live Preferences folder - \Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live x.x.x\Preferences\ on Windows or /Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/ if you're on a Mac.

I was able in the past to use my MacBook Pros keyboard to play notes but cant do that for some reason in A10. What settings do I need to change to allow this?

Another minor nuisance with Live 10: keyboard used to be on by default, now it's off, so you need to click on the little keyboard icon on the top right, or hit M to activate it.
