long audiofiles - how to short the load-time?

Post by LIFE » Sat Sep 17, 2005 2:22 pm

At least in the endmix-stadium it is much more comfortable to work with with one long file instead hundreds of peaces.
Lets say you have 10 tracks = 10 files, each about 80MB = 800MB. If i start a song with this "content" it needs a big time to load - till to some minutes. It seems that live try to load as much as possible into ram.
A friend of mine use cubase and has a slower computer than mine, but if he load the same wavs it needs muchmore lesser time.
Is there any option i didnt found or has anybody another tips to short the load-time?

thx

Does it take long even if you pre-loaded the files (in a previous session), so Live profiled them?

no, pre-listining is working well (if the files where analysed before).
