Hello fellow Live users,
I direct the Salt Lake Electric Ensemble, which is currently a group of 10 musicians which each perform and record with Live.
We are pleased to announce that our recording of Philip Glass's Music With Changing Parts (1970) has been released on Glass's own record label, Orange Mountain Music.
The album was created by first programming each note from the score as MIDI information. Each measure from the score went into one session view clip, and the clips were arranged and distributed to each member of the ensemble. The score was then played entirely in session view, in a top to bottom flow.
After spending a lot of time on sound design and rehearsal, the recording began. Each ensemble member recorded their own Session performance into the arrangement. Each pf these separate .als files were then combined into one large set, where overdubs and mixing took place.
