Clips in session view
Clips in session view
I have a clip that loops for 4 bars when I press play and that's how I want it - but when I press stop I would like it to play to the actual end of the audio recording. How can I achieve this ?
Re: Clips in session view
You're probably using the global stop? Use a stop button in one of the empty clips on that track or that track's stop button located just above the sends.

I assume you mean you have a longer sample which you have looped a section of and when you stop that clip you want to "play out" the rest of the clip?
If that is the case the easiest way is just duplicate the clip and just set the start of the duplicate at the end of th loop and set it to not loop. When you want to play out the loop, just trigger the next clip and that will play the tail out. You can also configure follow rules if you want to automate it for any reason

jestermgee's suggestion is very good and I think that is the best way to do it if you want to control the clip's end from the play trigger side.
A different approach would be to instead of pressing stop, simply deactivate the loop at that moment and let the clip play out to the "end marker". The "end marker' is independent of the loop end, so if you place the end marker at the end of the clip (even if it's beyond the loop end), whenever you deactivate the loop, the clip will play till the end.

Automate the Clip's loop switch. You can use MIDI or a keyboard key. When you disable the loop, the clip will play to its end.Janeway wrote:I have a clip that loops for 4 bars when I press play and that's how I want it - but when I press stop I would like it to play to the actual end of the audio recording. (My apologies, Da Hand had already suggested this)
Make some music!
