VPS Avenger crashes Ableton Live on Windows 10.0.1

I can't get VPS Avenger to work on Ableton 10.0.1 on Windows.

The demo worked fine but the full version crashes Ableton immediately after scan.

I guess I will try the beta version.

I had the same problem with Avenger and updating my graphic card drivers sorted it out so that's worth a try.

I tried the beta as well. No luck. I guess i do need to try my graphics drivers then. Weird how that would crash Ableton especially since the demo version works fine.

I also tried upgrading my graphics card.

Disabling UAC, Running program as an administrator.


By the way here is my system info.

MSI GS 63 VR Stealth Pro laptop
Windows 10
Core i7 7700 hq
16 gigs of ram
50 gigs of free SSD space
327 gigs of free HDD space
NVidia GeForce GTX 1060 (now on version 23.21.13.9135) I believe this is the 6 gig version


I also see something for Intel HD Graphics 630 but I don't think this is my graphics card.


I sent a bug report from the beta forum and also sent the VPS Avenger tech support person an email.


Its weird though as I accidentally installed the demo version first and that worked fine and didn't crash Ableton but it seemed to be an older version. The version of VPS I downloaded is 1.3.4.

The demo is only 1.2.6.

I wonder is you all are using an older version that doesn't have this issue.

I'm on a Windows 10 pc, and I am running VPS Avenger version 1.3.3. I didn't know there was a 1.3.4.

After reading your post, I updated to 1.3.4, and I also updated my Philta XL plugin to the latest version, and both of them are working fine in Live 10.0.2b6 beta.

I'm not sure what it is then. This has been the only plug-in giving me trouble so far.

I guess Ableton or Vengeance would have to tell me something.

If I were you, I would do a complete uninstall of the plugin, and then reinstall it. Before you reinstall it, I would look through all of your folders where you have your vst's installed, and make sure you don't have an older version laying around somewhere. It seems that Vengeance doesn't do a good job of overwriting the older version. I had to delete the older versions by hand.

Realise this is way old, but just for the sake of others finding this - mine is working when it's by it's self on a track - not grouped.

If I try to run it grouped - as part of an instrument rack - it crashes Ableton.

Same For me, do you find a solution, when group, it crashes.
