are you sure they're talking about the mac version? i just recieved email from them, too:
----------------------
We will not have soon a firmware update for MAC or drivers, but the Nostromo
works on MAC OS10.

If there is anything else I can help you with let mw know.
-----------------------

do i need more coffee or do they say exactly the opposite? :-)

i guess there's a new firmware for windows out but not for mac.
Let us know what they send you, i'm curiois.

so long,

Yeah, that's part of the reason I posted the quote, I really don't know why they would need it. Seems peculier, but I did go through the proper channels. Wierd. But if I mysteriously stop posting, tell gmail thats where they can trace the culprit!

Edit-oh wow, I just saw your post Dom,
You'd think it wasn't a computer I was interacting with, considering they asked me for my number, but then they did get my first and name mixed up. Either they are oblivious to the fact that my request was OSX oriented, or the goods are on the way.

If I am wrong, sorry for the false alarm!

Grrrr, it better be mac compatible soon, those buggers market it as though it is!

any news on the os X front? did you indeed get the update?
it's a great tool, but not being able to cycle shift is a big bummer. i only just started using it again after switching from pc to mac a few months ago, and can't really decide how to assign the color shift buttons. i tried using the 'in between' positions of the pad, but that doesn't seem to work somehow.

i checked their site, and the software you can download dates 10/09/2003.

They are such flakes. Said MONTHS ago it was on the way in the mail, but it never happened. Finally I got some wierd reply suggesting they thought I was in the UK, and that somehow it influenced why my product was still doing what it was advertised to do.

OT. I missed the first update to Live beta 5. If it wasn't for some really good books and a roast beef sandwhich I would be crying right now.

Hi y'all. I just wanted to mention that they still haven't gotten back to me. Too bad, since this tool can do so much on a pc.

Anyone else on osx getting good use with this? I was using it for warping tracks, but that hasn't been an issue recently! :D

I use my Nostromo on Tiger, and works fine to me.

I switch the sample/plugin windows (at the bottom) with one of the keys (I assigned alt+tab to it. In a live situation it's a true lifesaver) and mainly start or stop clips. The 'fire' button brings up preferences in case I need it fast.

I don't tweak it to deathr, probably that's why I haven't experienced any problems with the nostromo on the mac.
I rather found an unusual problem on the pc, where I want to reassign the first key (the one that has tab assigned to) but it just ignores my setting, and keeps switching between arrange and clip view, even though there's not a single key assigned to it. That's weird... Anyone experienced anything like it?

wow, I have one of those, I hadnt ever considered using it as part of the live controll setup. Do you have a basic configuration file you could post that I could monkey around with?

If you could explain to me how to get the advanced macro software I would be most greatful. Especially since the cats at Belkin said it does not exist on a mac (a few months back)!

That's weird...

I went to their site, and downloaded what I found for the mac.

Here is the link, I used the one named as:

'Mac OS 9.x Nostromo Gaming Software (OS 9.x) 10/09/2003 2.29 Mbytes"

and you can find it here: http://web.belkin.com/support/download/ ... ng=1&mode=

I installed the program quite some time ago when I was still on Panther, and haven't moved it ever since. When I upgraded to Tiger, nothing unexpected happened, the unit still operates as it supposed to be, even though the program is for good ol' 9.x.

Hope it will work for you as well.

Cheers

Shane

if I am not mistaken there is a more in depth version for PC's that enables advanced macros programming, i.e.: hold up for 400ms, down... via button 1... or something like that.

All I have is assignabilty of basic key strokes to (quite a multitude) of buttons. I will download this, but I think it is the same ting that I already tried, that which came with it. If it's what I am talking about, there is a section for mac instructions and it describes setting up in windows-very lame. Dare I say false advertising. But I may eat these words!

yeah, if you look at this page, you will see that there are much larger files for programming in pc that don't exist for osx, But I will try out this OSX version and check it out in case I'm wrong!

Yup. Same thing. I believe that other people on this post had this issue and I am not insane. Dense at times, but not insane.

Is there a way you can know, like some kind of visual feedback, which keyset you're in while cycling through them?
