How to downgrade to 10.0.2 -> 10.0.1?
How to downgrade to 10.0.2 -> 10.0.1?
Ableton auto updated to 10.0.2 and now a project I'm working on crashes on load on multiple computers.
I turned auto update off but how can I revert to 10.0.1?
I've search everywhere but cannot see how. Thank you in advance.

Normally you can go here:
https://www.ableton.com/en/download/archive/
But I see they do not (yet) have 10.0.1 as a download option. Maybe they can get that fixed up asap.

This gives me hope, although past history only shows X.X releases, not X.X.x...jestermgee wrote:Normally you can go here:

On macOS, I was able to use Time Machine, restore the old 10.0.1 app and disable auto updates. (I traced my issue to Arturia plugins noted in another thread.) A hack solution but works for now.

There's a reason the more experienced save their installers in a library. They don't count on others to fix it for them. Not that it would kill Ableton to keep all versions online.

To revert back a version or two, I followed this advice:
https://www.ableton.com/answers/downgra ... 1-to-9-0-6
So using the formula outlined in the forum above you can re-download Live 10.0.1, 64bit, for MacOS here:
http://downloads.ableton.com/channels/1 ... 0.1_64.dmg
(BTW, I had the same Arturia crash issues you did in 10.0.2...ugh!).

i suggest changing the name of the Ableton Live application package before installing the upgrade (that or keeping the previous installer)...

Yes! I forgot to mention this, renaming the old version by adding the version number, is one my old favs on Macs. I think it's somewhat more involved on PCs?fishmonkey wrote:i suggest changing the name of the Ableton Live application package before installing the upgrade (that or keeping the previous installer)...
This way you can slowly try out the new version and if you need to check if there's a difference you can try the old version very quickly.
I might also add it's vital to backup Live preferences and other support files prior to updating. As well as your projects and everything else you create.

on OS X, Live creates a new preferences folder for each version of Live (in ~/Library/Preferences/Ableton). dunno what it does on Windows, probably something similar...Stromkraft wrote: I might also add it's vital to backup Live preferences and other support files prior to updating.

yep they are all in C:\Users\{YOURUSERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton
I just took a look to check and it turns out I have 52 versions of Ableton on this machine. Nice eh!

Dear me im in the same boat. Why do they not have all the versions of Live available to download. 10.0.2 freezes like mad for me and I cant go back???? How dumb and crap is that. I'll be disabling automatic updates if I ever get the damn thing working again. Great daw but so so many problems in my short time with it
And its actually not as feature rich as other daws either
Currently downloading the latest Beta to try it but I'll also try the link above for 10.0.1.

yep some strangeness here with 10.0.2 as well. Graphics freezing sometimes on startup - 10.0.1 was fine. Gonna try the new beta
Re: How to downgrade to 10.0.2 -> 10.0.1?
The link below worked for me. I'm having issues with 10.0.2 drastically changing my Wavetable instruments so switched back to 10.0.1 and turned off autoupdates immediately. But upon launching
Live today my Wavetable sounds were sounding off and discovered it autoupdated again. Whenever I switch back to 10.0.1 the instruments sound correct.
