MPK261 Not Showing an Input / Output Option

I am trying to set up my MPK261. It is not showing as an input or output option in the MIDI preferences while the Push 2 shows up automatically.

How can I resolve this?

I've tried restarting and unpluging. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I set the global settings to external as AKAI recommended.

The MPK261 worked fine out of the box.

Then it stopped working at all. I changed the global settings and used the MPK261 without a problem. The MPK261 Input/Output showed up as it was supposed to do. I left the music room and did not turn anything off. When I returned having changed nothing it stopped working again.

In my case, I was using a usb hub and it didn't work. Switching to a direct usb connection did the trick!
