MIDI CLOCK SYNC DELAY

Post by danielkeenan » Wed Jul 11, 2018 6:56 am

Hey there . hopefully someone can help and save me some time . I'm running 3 external Hardware instruments into live MFB Tanzbar /drumbrute /minilog . all going into my zed r16 multi track into ableton and they're mid sync with my MOTU express 128 mid interface .
There is a delay when I'm recording the instruments[kick is off the beat ] so i adjust the MIDI CLOCK SYNC DELAY OUTPUT until everything is fitting in nice and snug [alldrums where they should be on the bar ]. That works for about 10 minutes then its off again and everything is out when I try to record again .
Shouldn't it just stay the same when you adjust the midi sync options and change every time .

Help would be much appreciated dan

Are you using External Instrument? If not, why not?

I suggest OP uses the correct recording technique- number one suggestion in the Ableton manual.

I would suggest the OPs problem is as a result of changing uncompensated latency of something else in the set. And it is likely the "reduced latency when monitoring" setting is set. This setting can tend to put monitored signals out of sync in a highly latent set especially where latency changes.
