Hold functionality on Push 2

Post by Ardkok » Sat Aug 18, 2018 8:45 am

Hello everyone!

I am very happy and excited to be working with Push 2 these days. It truly makes the whole process a lot of fun and it keeps my playful spirit alive.

There is one thing though, that I would really really really love to have. I want to be able to make some kind of Hold functionality for the things I play while in the normal 'setup' (not 'user) mode of the push 2. I want to be able to play some kind of pad or sound on one track, press a button to have it continue, and thereafter switch to another track to play different stuff.

Now I am thinking of hooking up another midi controller and adding a Midi hold device to the track. So I would have a dedicated 'hold' button for each track. This is definitely not my preferred way. Can you guys think of any other way? Would love to hear it!

Cheers,
Ard

Have you tried putting the effect and the instrument into the same rack then mapping the on off to one of the macros? Or is this not working for you?

How about keyboard mapping, it's quick and easy if you just need that one extra button.

Why not create a clip and record what you want then play that while you go to the next track??

After all, that is the whole point of Live that it's super easy to do exactly that.

Or use a M4L device like Robert Henke's Hold device
