consolidate time to new scene tempo problem

Post by masleo » Thu Oct 11, 2018 12:42 am

I'm using ableton to playback tracks in a live setting. I add the tracks in arrangement view, then I add a silent track and make it into master tempo to handle tempo change for each song. Works fine in arrangement view.

Then when I choose "consolidate time to new scene" for each song, sometimes the tempo is off even after I type the bpm in the scene title. Sometimes when I go back to arrangement view, the right side of the clips in a song are cut short, and the master track is too long.... I can extend them back to their original place, and then have to readjust tempo track. What am I missing....?

It seems to work if I make the master tempo track back into a slave before consolidating to new scene but not every time. Is there a conflict with a master tempo track when using in session view ?

Thanks for your time ,

Hi, It sort of sounds like you are not correctly selecting the whole area before consolidate time to the new scene

Rather than using the master tempo track, can you use the master tempo via tempo automation in the master channel?

Or when in session view you can enter the tempo 80bpm for example in the scene name. Or do you have a lot of little changes?
