"Live does not support... as a sample rate" issue w/RME

I've been using Live 10 on an iMac running High Sierra OS with an RME UFX+ for a few months now. It's worked flawlessly until a few days ago when suddenly it stopped allowing me to select the RME as an Audio Output Device. I've updated my Firmware on the RME side and I'm on 10.0.5 on the Live side (via auto updates, which I suspect may be the root issue here).

If I do the obvious and go the RME Fireface driver, select sample rate X (let's say 48k for this example), I then return to Live to select Audio Output Device and it immediately kicks the RME to 128k and gives the following error message: "Live does not support 128000 as a sample rate for the device "Fireface UFX+," which of course I know. And I'm not interested in 128k anyway. I've tried this repeatedly at various sample rates to the same end. Anyone have experience with this issue or a guess as to the needed fix?

For what it's worth, I tested the same interface with my old version of Live 9 and it works fine. Not helpful for opening recent works recorded in Live 10 but helpful for isolating the issue.

I think a few staff occasionally drift past this forum if they are feeling masochistic/ nostalgic , but in the main its just users here and a couple of moderators.

Thanks for the reply, Angstrom. I emailed support a few days ago but I'm a daily user of Live so I figured I'd try the forum to see if I might get a quicker reply. Good tip about the Beta participation potentially yielding more connection for support requests.

In case anyone else ends up with this issue, it seems to be related to a corrupted set of preferences associated with the driver. Support responded within about 48 hours and nailed it first attempt. They did say that they suspect it may be related to a RME - OS Mojave issue but I was not running Mojave when the issue kicked in. Regardless, the trick to reset was to ditch the "preferences.cfg" file. More info about this @ https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... reset-Live.

Not enough run hours yet to trust that the issue is completely revolved but the reset did at least enable me to redefine the output device, and that in turn allowed me to set the desired sample rate settings on the RME and have Live follow suit.

did anyone ever find answer to this. i want to listen to live audio via bluetooth headphoens. im on live 10 suite and this worked without issue on live 10 intro. with the newer software it just doesnt workj??? really want this to work!

More information needed...

The post immediately before yours details what worked regarding an RME interface on a Mac. Your problem appears not to be that because Bluetooth headphones are not an RME audio interface. You also don’t say if you are even using a Mac.

So - PC or Mac, which version of the operating system, what error messages (if any) are you seeing?

Its a bug! If you are getting this problem and using bluetooth headphones, you need to have "computer audio(or equivalent)" set as the output first! Only then will you be able to connect your bluetooth headphones to Ableton.

If your audio preferences say "no device", you will get the error message saying that your headphones aren't compatible with the sample rate.
