Trouble setting up live with a controller

Hi,

Was wondering if somebody could point me in the right direction to gettting live working with my yamaha mfc10 footpedal? Live can see it fine and i can see the little midi signal flashing when i press a button switch on the footpedal, however live doesnt register a midi controller/key for that keypress. Any ideas? it works fine for standard midi keyboards etc but not for the footpedal. Any help would be appreciated.

alright I'll help ya out:
First off, a bit more info, which version of Live, which midi light goes on, and what midi information does your mfc10 output (if you know)?

Ok its the latest beta of live, 5.0.2b6 and the light that comes on is the midi track IN indicator. So live is getting something from the controller... just not the right thing I guess.

alright, have you set it up in the preferences? It should be set to remote under midi/sync->input...
