Double launching to initiate a clyphx command usually means an update to ableton 8.2 or higher is needed.
Novation midi controllers output increment/decrement midi control in step values.
Such as a button that steps from 0 thru 127 in 127 presses
Take the nocturn as an example.
1.Select a button in AUTOMAP GUI. Name it = DOWN
2 set to desired cc or note. Example: = note 12, midi ch. 8
3 set button type as STEP.
4. Min/max should be preset from 0 to 127.
5. Set point step 'size' to 1.
6. How many chains does your rack have? Set your 'points' to that number.
A. Got five chains in your rack? Enter five under 'Points'.
B.Want an empty slot to mute the rack? +1 more . Ex: = 5+1= 6
7. Save new nocturn preset
7. Enter midi mapping mode in ableton, open rack and select chain selector,
and map this button to rack chain selector.
You now have a midi button that will step down thru your chains in the rack,
One at a time. Want to step up back thru chains? Follow the steps below.
1.Select the next button in AUTOMAP GUI. Name it = UP
2 set to the SAME cc or note. Example: = note 12, midi ch. 8
3 set button type as inc/dec.
4. Change limit to 1 thru -127 (that's negative 127. I type a negative sign before the 127)
5. Set point size to 1.
6. How many chains does your rack have? Set your range to that number.
A. Got five chains in your rack? Set range to five.
7. This button is already mapped in ableton! You only created a variation to step up,
As well as down, thru the chains in your rack.
Now you have created two buttons to step thru your chains.
If your using Clyphx, I find using the commands
SEL/DEV1.? CHAIN <. (&) SEL/DEV1.? CHAIN >
To be excellent because they navigate chains in whatever rack is selected with blue hand!

Although Clyphx is ok, if you have Max, there's a fantastic little device:
http://www.maxforlive.com/library/devic ... ram-change
Then, in fm8, massive, or whatever, load up the patches you want in the program change section. Once you're done, drop this m4l patch, and then assign the increase and decrease buttons to midi or keyboard buttons, if you want. HAVE FUN!
