jms5881,

I'll A-Men to that last statement brother. Hit the nail on the head.

I checked out the link to the controller Sasha is using. what about the fader foxes? I myself plan to use the Digidesign 002 because i like the motorized faders. might have one of the fader foxes or a standard midi keyboard with keys, joystick, faders, knobs, and buttons. damn i guess i could use the x-station.

Just looks and sounds like any other mixer(except bigger). There's no evidence as to how this product is even relivent to Live! I've seen a better, more convincing Alien autopsy.

Making Thunder

Post by stereomike » Wed Sep 14, 2005 11:56 pm

Has anyone built the thunder machine like Robert? I tried my hand at it and it sounds awesome!! Any tips for cool effects? I stayed up till 3 in the morning playing around with it. Very addictive! after you trigger a drum it goes for like 20 secs. Sounds very organic. I just purchased Live last week and I"m loving it.

I recently tried out some code that was posted on this forum that enables the microkontrol (and also some beringer control) to be used in "native" mode.

The code seemed to work partially through midipipe/microkontrols librarian, as it allowed me some (very unpredictable) control of pans per track. Unfortunately the poster speaks very little english, so I havent been able to get very far with it (it's too bad because they seem very, very bright and capable:))

My question is, if I was using max or Plogue Biddle, could it be possible to create a similiar device? Or perhaps embelish on the possible features already between interfacing the microkontrol and Live?

Thanks!

Hi Ian

Can I recommend a program called Building Blocks. It's all the MIDI elements of Plogue and MAX without the crashes of beta-Plogue or the cost of MAX. It's a great piece of software for real time processing of midi data from any controller. Its powerful, stable and easy to use. You need to 'sync' it to Live to get the most out of it.

there's a link from my site:

"I cannot play an instrument. I cannot remember melodies. I cannot sing. I have bad timing. I know way too little about counterpoint. I am just someone who is addicted to sound and who under any circumstances wants to create music with electronic instruments" (our Henke boy)

I find some comfort...

I would suggest a feature on Andrew Pekler - if he's an ableton user at all (?!).
